Kids join their race in the Le Fruit Triathlon in Vung Tau City.

Funded in 2002, the Le Fruit Triathlon is the longest standing multi-sport event and unique off-road triathlon in Viet Nam.

The race is reserved for all people, from beginners to amateur athletes and from kids to adults, challenging in five different categories including Sprinter Individual (500m swim, 20km bike, 5km);  Sprinter Relay (500m swim, 20km bike, 5km); Duathlon (5km run, 20km ride, 5km run); Rookie (100m swim, 4km bike, 3km run) and Aero-Kids (50m swim, 2km ride, 1.5km run).

The organising committee said the location of the event, which is easy accessible by car or bus just two hours from HCM City, is part of an 11,000-hectare rainforest that was designated as a nature reserve in 1975.

The bike race will go towards the rainforest and the run will take place in the beach alongside spectators and supporters who will be able to cheer along the path.

The one-day race will offer a BBQ sunset party at the end of the day.

“By bringing back this event, we aim to encourage people to try a fascinating sport: the triathlon. However, in this occasion, it is not only about overcoming the challenge itself rather the Le Fruit Triathlon is about a festive celebration and an occasion to enjoy a friendly, fun and family oriented weekend” said Bady Pham, Managing Director of Pulse Active.
