The Hanoi-Lao Cai railway is blocked by landslide on October 10.

Vietnam Railways reopened the north-south railway route at Bim Son-Do Len section in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa at 5.20 pm on Thursday after it was suspended by flooding on October 11.

The rising flood water at 11.50 am on October 11 had made it impossible for trains to run through Bim Son-Do Len railway section.

The roads in this area were also submerged so passengers had to wait for the flood water to fall to continue their journey.

Doi Si Hung, VNR's deputy director said that the Hanoi-Lao Cai route which was cut off by landslide in Lam Giang Station in Yen Bai Province will also be reopened Friday morning.
