Vietnamese rapper Suboi has become the first Vietnamese artist to be featured on Vogue Japan fashion magazine.

The talented rapper appeared in the latest issue of the magazine in design of Cong Tri.

The issue, titled "Asia Rising", aims to honour Asian artists with a big influence. Suboi was introduced as the outstanding artist who significantly contributed to Vietnamese rap and hip hop industry.

Other artists, who also were honored in the magazine, included composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, actresses Chloe Sevigny and Rosario Dawson and hip hop artist Chance The Rapper.

Suboi’s Vietnamese name is Hang Lam Trang Anh. She was born in 1990 in Ho Chi Minh City and is one of the most renowned rappers in Vietnam.

In May 2016, Suboi became famous around the world after rapping before the former US President Barack Obama in a talk show involving young Vietnamese people. The event drew the attention of the international media.

She was also the first Vietnamese artist who has joined advertising campaign for H&M x Kenzo collection in various countries around the world.

The talented rapper has also attended international events and featured on CNN, The Guardian, National Post, Time, and Teen Vogue.
