Some restaurants in Hanoi have been fully booked for the Lunar New Year Eve firework display on Monday.

Firework displays will be held from 12am to 12.15am on January 1 Lunar Calendar which falls on February 4 in 30 places in the capital including the Hoan Kiem Lake, Lac Long Quan Flower Garden, My Dinh Sports Complex, Lenin Park, and Van Quan Lake.

Hoan Kiem Lake always attracts a large number of visitors for every firework display. Taking advantage of the event, many hotels, bars and restaurants in the area sell tickets to those who want to watch the firework from their places.

Despite high prices ranging from VND300,000 (USD13) -1.5 million (USD66) per adult, many restaurants and cafes have been fully-booked.

Tickets usually include a light meal and a drink.

A staff member at a restaurant on Cau Go Street, Nguyen Xuan Tien, said that they have sold out tickets at balconies at VND1.2 million by Sunday.

Now we have only some tickets for indoor seats priced at VND800,000," Tien said.

Pham Anh Nhi from Cau Giay District said that he has booked four tickets for his family to watch the firework display at Ham Ca Map Restaurant at VND3.5 million.

"We paid VND2 million for two adult tickets and VND1.5 million for two children," Nhi said. "Lunar New Year Eve is a special time for us so we want to have happy and joyful time together."
