Dozens of paintings featuring the rhino have been made on many streets in HCM City which aims to raise awareness in protecting the endangered animal.

The Rhinos Street Art Painting Project, which was jointly done by the Centre of Hands-on Action and Networking for Growth and Environment and District 1's authorities, brought in local and foreign voluntary artists to decorate the walls in seven wards including Da Kao, Cau Kho, Nguyen Thai Binh, Pham Ngu Lao, Tan Dinh, Ben Nghe and Ben Thanh with rhino images.

Graffiti, mural and stencil paintings which feature rhinos in different postures with a variety of colours and styles, and various messages to save and protect rhinos, have appeared on many streets.

It took 11 artists nearly two months to complete 17 paintings on the streets including Nguyen Huy Tu, Phan Ke Binh, Bui Thi Xuan, and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai.
