A road to the tourist town of Sapa has been blocked by landslides due to torrential rains over the past days, affecting traffic.

According to the Lao Cai Tourism Information Centre, continuous heavy rains have caused serious landslides on National Highway 4D which links Lao Cai City and Sapa Town.
The provincial Department of Transport said that around 3,000 cubic metres of soil and rock fell on the road, blocking traffic.
The Lao Cai Tourism Information Centre has warned travellers about the situation. Tourists and local residents are advised to go via National Highway 4E in Xuan Giao Commune, Bao Thang District and then road 152 to come to Thanh Phu Commune in Sapa.
Lao Cai authorities have instructed local agencies to deal with the landslides to ensure traffic.
