In preparation for the second leg of the V.League, HCM City FC have roped in naturalised player Dang Van Robert.
Robert (right) will join HCM City FC in the V.League’s second stage in late June.
Robert, who is originally a Slovakian, is a multi-faceted player who can play in various positions – forward, midfielder and wing defender.
Robert, who competed for Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa in the past, is now a member of former champions Becamex Binh Duong but could not find a regular berth in their first team.
He will not extend his contract with Becamex which will end this year.
He will play for the new team from June 24 onwards.
Robert, 32, and HCM City acting president Lê Công Vinh were teammates, before Vinh retired last year.
After eight rounds in V.League, HCM City are at the fifth spot with 13 points. They will play former champions SHB Đà Nẵng this weekend.
