Ru Cha, located in Thuan Hoa village, Huong Phong commune, Hue city, is the only surviving mangrove forest on the Tam Giang lagoon system - the largest lagoon complex in Southeast Asia.

The name "Ru Cha" refers to a forest densely populated with the "cha" tree species. The forest plays a vital role in protecting marine life and safeguarding the mainland from saltwater intrusion.

Visitors can reach Ru Cha by traveling from the center of Hue along National Highway 49 towards Thuan An beach. A left turn near Thao Long dam leads to the forest, which reveals itself after a short 30-minute journey.

At Ru Cha, visitors can take a small boat to navigate through the mangrove forest, listening to the harmonious sounds of birds, or enjoy a leisurely walk along winding concrete paths.

Ru Cha is known for its ancient "cha" trees, aquatic life, and diverse bird populations. This unique natural beauty has also drawn photographers from all over the country, resulting in numerous artistic masterpieces.

The most beautiful time to visit Ru Cha is in September, when the entire mangrove forest transitions to shades of gold and red, creating a breathtaking sight. The weather during this time is also mild and pleasant.

During the change of seasons, Ru Cha's "cha" trees shed their leaves and bloom with golden flowers, standing in sharp contrast to the lush green coconut trees, creating a mesmerizing scene.

Visitors can explore Ru Cha between February and September, with each season offering its own unique charm.
