Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and a high-level Vietnamese delegation arrived at Kazan International Airport in the city of Kazan, Russian Federation, on the evening of June 16, beginning a visit to attend the ASEAN-Russia commemorative summit marking 35 years of relations and conduct bilateral activities.

Welcoming Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and the delegation at Kazan International Airport were Rustam Nurgaliyevich Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan; representatives of the Protocol Department of Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi; officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and Consulate General; and members of the Vietnamese community in Russia.

The leader of the Republic of Tatarstan invited Prime Minister Le Minh Hung to partake in bread, salt and sweets as part of a traditional local ceremony reserved for distinguished guests.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung is expected to participate in activities within the framework of the ASEAN-Russia commemorative summit marking 35 years of relations. He will also hold meetings and working sessions with leaders of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to meet executives from several major Russian economic groups and attend investment and business networking events between the two countries. He will also meet officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy as well as members of the Vietnamese community in Russia.

This is Prime Minister Le Minh Hung's first working visit to the Russian Federation in his new capacity, demonstrating Vietnam's strong commitment to the ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership.

The summit carries significant importance in advancing the ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership, reinforcing political commitments, renewing momentum for cooperation and identifying strategic directions for future relations across the three pillars of political-security, economic, and socio-cultural cooperation.

On the sidelines of the summit, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung is expected to hold meetings and working sessions with leaders of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan. He will reaffirm that Vietnam highly values its traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia and wishes to maintain and strengthen cooperation across various sectors for the mutual benefit of both countries.

Officials from both sides are expected to discuss specific priorities, key areas of cooperation and measures to address obstacles in implementing high-level agreements already reached. The discussions will reflect a shared determination to reposition and comprehensively elevate bilateral cooperation across all fields in line with the demands of a new era of development.
