On August 23, a representative from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Traffic Police Department confirmed that after verifying the case, authorities found the individual involved had already departed Vietnam via Tan Son Nhat International Airport on August 22.

According to the department, after videos of the dangerous driving went viral, the Nha Trang road traffic police unit promptly coordinated with other provincial police divisions to investigate and enforce penalties in accordance with the law.

Initial investigations identified the man as Podlenaiev Mikhail, who had registered his temporary residence at a building on Tran Hung Dao Street, Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province.

Upon checking his residency status, police discovered his visa had expired on August 19, 2025. He failed to report his departure or register a new address. Authorities later tracked him to a different apartment on Nguyen Thien Thuat Street but found he was no longer staying there.

Suspecting he had left the country, the immigration department worked with agencies in Ho Chi Minh City and confirmed that Mikhail had exited Vietnam through Tan Son Nhat Airport on August 22.

Before the videos went viral, Mikhail had already been fined by the Nha Trang road traffic unit in May 2025 for “Operating a motorcycle over 50cc without a valid driver's license.” In addition, the motorbike’s owner, identified as Nguyen H. from Lam Dong Province, was fined for “Allowing an unqualified person to operate a vehicle in traffic.”

The Khanh Hoa Traffic Police Department emphasized that all violations of the law, particularly those involving foreign nationals residing, working, or traveling in Vietnam, will be detected and dealt with strictly.

Previously, on the night of August 20, a 47-second clip circulated widely on Facebook showing a foreign man dangerously weaving through traffic at high speeds along Tran Phu Street in Nha Trang. The reckless behavior sparked widespread concern and criticism from the public.
