The delegation accompanying President Putin included key figures such as Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov; Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, who also chairs the Russian Subcommittee of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic-Trade and Scientific-Technical Cooperation; Deputy Chief of the Presidential Office and Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov; Head of Presidential Protocol Vladislav Kitaev; Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko; and several ministers including Konstantin Chuichenko (Justice), Anton Alikhanov (Industry and Trade), Roman Starovoit (Transport), and Sergei Tsivilev (Energy).

At Noi Bai International Airport, President Putin was warmly welcomed by Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi.

After the welcoming ceremony, President Putin and his entourage departed for their hotel. The motorcade, led by traffic police, traveled along Vo Chi Cong Street towards the Metropole Hotel in Hanoi. The motorcade, consisting of motorcycles and escort vehicles, crossed Nhat Tan Bridge and navigated through the inner city streets.

From early morning, many reporters gathered at the VIP hall of Noi Bai International Airport to cover President Putin's arrival. Security measures were reinforced to the maximum to manage the media presence and ensure smooth operations.

Today, President Putin has a packed schedule in Hanoi, including talks and meetings with Vietnamese leaders. To facilitate these activities, Hanoi City Police will manage traffic and organize routes for vehicles from 7:00 a.m. on June 19 to 10:00 p.m. on June 20.

Ahead of the visit, some delegation members arrived in Hanoi and engaged in bilateral activities. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko met with Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and visited the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center. Additionally, the General Director of Rosatom met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Russian Ambassador to Vietnam, Gennady Bezdetko, stated that President Putin is scheduled to hold discussions with senior Vietnamese leaders and attend meetings with graduates of Soviet and Russian universities. The visit is expected to result in a Joint Statement and the signing of cooperation agreements in various fields, including higher education, justice, customs regulations, healthcare, energy, and scientific research.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia, Dang Minh Khoi, highlighted the significance of this visit for addressing regional and international issues of mutual interest. He emphasized that the visit would strengthen political and strategic ties, enhance bilateral cooperation, and contribute to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.

President Putin's visit underscores the mutual respect and friendship between Vietnam and Russia, contributing to the global standing of both nations and promoting common interests for peace and stability.

Schedule for President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Vietnam

President To Lam will preside over the State-level welcoming ceremony for Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Presidential Palace at noon.

Following the welcoming ceremony, President Putin will engage in talks with President To Lam and meet with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

In the afternoon, President Putin will hold discussions with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and meet with National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

President Putin's itinerary also includes laying wreaths at the Monument to the Martyrs, visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, meeting with leaders of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association and former Vietnamese students who studied in Russia, and attending a State-level reception.
