Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 3 signed a decree on holding Russian Year in Vietnam in 2019.

In order to further develop the Russian-Vietnamese relations, the Russian Year will be held in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the year of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Russia in 2019, Sputniknews of Russia quoted the decree posted on the government’s legal information portal as saying.
The Russian President also approved members of the organisation committee for the event held in Vietnam, which is headed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov.
Under the decree, the Russian government is responsible for providing necessary assistance to the organising committee. Financial support for the events in Russia and Vietnam is sourced from the federal budget of Russia.-VNA
