Saigon Heat will be Viet Nam’s only representative in the ASEAN Baksetball League (ABL) 2016-17.

The coming tournament will feature six teams namely the Heat, Westports Malaysia Dragons, Singapore Slingers, Alab Pilipinas, Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions and Kaohsiung Truth (Chinese Taipei).

The league runs from late December to April next year.

The Heat will play 20 matches in the regular season. They will meet Singapore Slingers in the opener on December 3.

Coach Anthony Garbelotto and his assistant David Singleton will continue coaching the team.

Last season, the Heat reached the semi-final alongside Hi Tech Bangkok City, the Singapore Slinges and Westports Malaysia Dragons.
