This agreement, reached with Vietnam Television (VTV), will see the VTVGo app pre-installed on Samsung's new 2020 - 2024 TV models. Additionally, Samsung plans to include a dedicated VTVGo hard key on TV remote controls starting in 2025.
Mr. Pham Anh Chien, Deputy Director of Vietnam Television's Center for Production and Development of Digital Content (VTV Digital), highlighted this integration as a significant milestone in making VTVGo available across Smart TVs and remote controls of all TV brands in Vietnam.
He emphasized the effective collaboration between Vietnam Television and the Ministry of Information and Communications in advancing digital journalism and establishing a national digital television platform.
Mr. Do Thanh Hai, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television, underscored VTV's commitment to enhancing the VTVGo application as part of their digital transformation strategy, aiming to provide users with a more convenient and enriched viewing experience.
VTVGo, developed by Vietnam Television, currently serves 10 million regular monthly users across various devices, offering TV channels and a vast library of on-demand content.
In July 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications engaged with five major TV manufacturers to integrate the VTVGo platform on smart TVs sold and distributed in Vietnam.
Many manufacturers have since agreed to this initiative, marking a cooperative effort to bolster the national digital television landscape.
Recently, LG launched its highest-end TV line, LG OLED evo M4, in Vietnam, featuring the VTVGo application shortcut key on its Magic Remote.
LG's move signifies a proactive step among TV manufacturers to support the national digital television platform and cater to the evolving viewing habits of Vietnamese consumers, increasingly favoring digital platforms like VTVGo.
This integration not only enhances accessibility to VTVGo but also aligns with the growing preference for digital content consumption among Vietnamese audiences, positioning platforms like VTVGo as pivotal in nationwide communication efforts.
