While tensions rise between MUO and Thailand over unauthorized promotions, Vietnam’s Huong Giang stands out with poise and style.
The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has issued a formal warning to the host country Thailand over unauthorized voting activities, while Vietnam’s representative, Huong Giang, continues to impress international audiences with her poise and sophistication.
Miss Universe disputes with host nation Thailand; Nawat lashes out
On November 2, the Miss Universe Organization released an official statement addressing recent online promotions for a “Special dinner & talk show” event.
According to the MUO, this event was not authorized. Any independent activity or third-party initiative using the Miss Universe name, logo, trademark, or associated branding without prior written approval is deemed an infringement of intellectual property and brand integrity.
The official statement issued by the Miss Universe Organization.
The organization emphasized that all promotional materials, contests, or online voting campaigns currently circulating under the Miss Universe name, including those related to the aforementioned event, are unauthorized and misleading. These initiatives do not represent the values, operations, or official activities of MUO.
The statement urged media outlets, sponsors, fans, and the public to rely only on verified official channels to ensure accurate information.
In response, Miss Universe Thailand, the official local organizing body, quickly issued a rebuttal.
According to their statement, the social media campaign titled “Vote now to select the top 10 for the special dinner & talk show with Mr. Nawat” is part of a legitimate, MUO-authorized marketing package for the host country.
Response from Miss Universe Thailand defending the promotional campaign.
The Thai side clarified that the promotional event was developed in collaboration with sponsors to support the pageant and that the voting process was designed to be fair and transparent in selecting contestants for specific activities.
They also stated that MUO’s announcement has caused public misunderstanding and confirmed they would escalate the matter to their legal team to evaluate any implications for Thai sponsors. Legal action would be taken if necessary.
Earlier, Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil, President of Miss Grand International and Vice President of Miss Universe Asiana, openly criticized Miss Universe’s operations during a livestream.
He questioned the organization’s management approach and pointed out the lack of activity on MUO’s major social media pages. He claimed he had offered to help post content if given access, but the Miss Universe team remained secretive. Nawat criticized the MUO media team for inefficiency, stating he couldn’t locate any social media staff in Thailand and that they failed to attend meetings.
He concluded that Miss Grand International, his own organization, would take control of communications to showcase its capabilities instead of waiting or offering further assistance to MUO.
The dispute between MUO and the Thai host regarding voting activities has drawn widespread attention from both the public and international media.
