Da Nang to enforce rubbish sorting from July

The plan to classify solid rubbish to 2025 has been approved by the chairman of Danang People's Committee. It belongs to the Danang environment city development plan and will help the reuse and recycling of solid rubbish to reduce the number of buried rubbish.
The goal is to have the rate of recycled and reused solid rubbish reach 12% in 2020 and 15% in 2025. The solid rubbish will be divided into four groups including rubbish for recycling and reuse, bulky objects or construction waste, hazardous rubbish, and household rubbish.
The local authorities will start raising awareness, popularising the plan and guiding local people on how to classify the rubbish at home this year.
The classification work will be carried out in Hai Chau District this July and expanded to other wards and district in September. The estimated cost for 2019 is over VND224bn (USD9.6m) and will come from the budget of the city, districts and wards and the private sector.
During the 2020-2022 period, the plan will be improved upon and the authorities will start classifying construction rubbish. During the 2023-2025 period, the authorities will review the plan and develop new proposals for the next period. Dtinews
