A sizzling hot spell is forecast to hit the whole country in the next few days, with the highest temperatures reaching 38-39 degrees Celsius, Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper reported, citing a forecast issued today, April 8, by the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting.

A hot air mass from the northwest of Asia is extending to the southeast region, affecting Vietnam’s weather.

Today, mountainous central provinces began experiencing heat waves, with the daily maximum temperature reaching 35-36 degrees Celsius.

From April 9 to 11, provinces from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen and those in the northwest will face the same fate, with the highest temperatures rising to 34-37 degrees Celsius. In the central region, temperatures were forecast to hit 38-39 degrees Celsius.

During the period, the southeastern provinces will also experience hot weather, with regular temperatures forecast at 35-36 degrees Celsius.

The hot weather is predicted to continue in southern Vietnam until the middle of this month.
