Vietnam Fitness Model Contest 2017, co-organized by Blue Sky Travel Co. and Rising Star Media Joint Stock Company, on Monday kicked off its second season in HCMC.

The contest is a cultural activity combined with sports, serving as a playground for young people who have strong passion for gymnastics and want to become fitness models. The competition, after being launched in HCMC, will also be organized in some major cities across the country from May 29 to September 30.

The contest is aimed at seeking fitness models, and introducing gymnastics to the community.

The panel of judges comprises of seven members including Huynh Ngoc Minh, vice chair of the Southern Asia Gymnastics Union, Pham Khac Hy, an athlete who won gold medal at the NABBA/WFF International Gymnastics Competition, actress Ly Nha Ky, MC/singer Nguyen Vu, and Miss Ocean Vietnam 2014 Dang Thu Thao.

Candidates will have to go through a qualifying round from July 1 to 8. The semifinal round will be held from July 9 to 25 in HCMC, Hanoi, Danang, and Can Tho.

The best 36 contestants will be chosen to compete in the final round scheduled from September 20 to 30, which will include fitness performances and sport fashion shows.

The total prize value of the competition is VND590 million. The awards include two first prizes worth VND100 million each, two second prizes worth VND70 million each, two third prizes worth VND50 million each and five consolation prizes worth VND15 million each.
