Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam speaks at the event

Being held in Vietnam for 11 consecutive years since 2007, Security World has gained its recognition as a prestigious forum on information security. This year, Security World 2017 will bring in orientation strategies, best practice sharing and up-to-date information relating to security risks and threats, new security regulations.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam said that the fourth Industrial Revolution with strong development in science and technology is bringing big opportunities for Vietnam. However, it also poses danger to the country’s network security.

According to the Vietnam Centre for Emergency Response Team (VNCERT), more than 134,000 network security-related incidents occurred in Vietnam in 2016, a four-fold rise compared with the previous year.

Therefore, Nam asked offices, organisations, businesses and individuals to improve awareness and skills to ensure network security, and cooperate closely with foreign groups and countries to tackle incidents when they occur.

At the event, participants shared updates on information security and introduced advanced security solutions with the hope to help the Vietnamese government, organisations and enterprises strengthen their security supervision and well respond to increasingly complicated risks.
