Along with the suspension, Faye was fined VNĐ30 million (US$1,300). His club also decided to not pay his salary during the suspension.

“Faye will realise his mistake when his salary isn’t paid,” said a Thanh Hoa official.

Faye received a red card for slapping Khanh Hoa’s captain Van Vu following a scuffle between the two teams.

On his way to the tunnel, Faye made an obscene gesture towards the spectators.
