The Thanh Hoa provincial prosecutor’s office has approved the decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Tran Van Thuc, former Director of the Department of Education and Training, for “falsifying documents in official duties.”

According to the Thanh Hoa People’s Procuracy, the unit has officially approved the prosecution and issued a detention warrant for Tran Van Thuc (born in 1969), currently Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Department of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization, and former Director of the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training.

Thuc has been charged with “falsifying documents in official duties” under Article 359 of the Penal Code. Prior to serving as Director of the Department of Education and Training, he held the position of Rector at the Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In March 2025, Thuc was reassigned and appointed Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Department of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization.

Currently, Tran Van Thuc is a member of the Provincial Party Committee and a National Assembly delegate for the 15th term, representing Thanh Hoa Province.

It is understood that his arrest is part of an investigation into alleged violations related to the admissions process during his tenure as Director of the Department of Education and Training.
