A serious car accident occurred today morning on the Highway 1A section through Ham Thuan Bac District in the southern province of Binh Thuan, killing three and injuring 10 others.

The driver of a car travelling from Quang Ngai to Binh Duong Province had stopped his vehicle to check his backlight. Just then, a coach travelling in the same direction crashed into the parked car due to the driver’s lack of concentration. He lost control and then crashed into another car travelling on the left side.

One passenger died immediately, while two others died on way to the local general hospital. The injured were also hospitalised.

The coach was seriously damaged in the collision.

Provincial authorities and relevant agencies visited the accident site to take stock of the situation and support the victims.

The remaining passengers in the three cars were provided support to continue their journey following the accident, the provincial Transport Department said.
