Ho Chi Minh City will host a series of fireworks displays at seven locations, alongside a wide range of cultural and artistic activities, to mark the 51st anniversary of national reunification on April 30, 1975–2026, and the 140th anniversary of International Workers’ Day.

According to a plan issued by the municipal People’s Committee, the fireworks will include three high-altitude and four low-altitude sites, all scheduled for the evening of April 30.

The displays will run for 15 minutes, from 9pm to 9:15pm, under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City High Command, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports.

Three high-altitude locations are set at the entrance of the Saigon River tunnel in An Khanh Ward, the central area of the new urban zone in Binh Duong Ward, and Ba Ria Park Square in Ba Ria Ward.

The four low-altitude displays will take place at Dam Sen Cultural Park in Binh Thoi Ward, the Saigon Marina IFC tower in Sai Gon Ward, the Kim Long villa area near Rach Dia Bridge in Nha Be Commune, and the Can Gio coastal urban tourism area - Vinhomes Green Paradise in Can Gio Commune.

Beyond the fireworks, the city will organize a wide array of cultural and sporting events for both residents and visitors. A major highlight is a large-scale art performance scheduled from 7:30pm to 9pm on April 30, held simultaneously at Nguyen Hue Street, the central park of the new urban area, and Ba Ria Park Square.

Photo exhibitions will run from April 23 to May 12 along key central streets such as Nguyen Hue and Dong Khoi, as well as at traditional cultural venues.

Sporting activities will include the 50th edition of the traditional April 30 cross-country race, expected to attract a large number of participants.

From April 26 to May 1, rotating cultural performances will be staged across wards, communes, and towns throughout the city.

Commemorative ceremonies, including visits and offerings of incense and flowers in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang, will take place on April 29.
