"Shrek: The Musical," the renowned Broadway production, previously graced Vietnamese stages in 2023. Following its success, The YOUniverse decided to bring back the show with a new version titled "Shrek: On National Tour."

The musical tells the story of Shrek, an ogre living in isolation in his swamp. His life changes when fairy tale characters are exiled to Shrek's swamp by Lord Farquaad. To regain his privacy, Shrek must return Princess Fiona to Farquaad while discovering self-worth and true love.

With messages about gender equality, social class, appearance, and respecting differences, the musical's team hopes to use art to bridge generational gaps and connect people.

Featuring exceptional performances, "Shrek: The Musical" creates a warm family-friendly atmosphere, where parents and children can immerse themselves in meaningful and human stories.

The musical's uniqueness lies in its lighting, which blends Eastern and Western styles.

The director skillfully incorporated Vietnamese phrases like "Oi gioi oi," "Ho Guom," "Thap Rua," "banh chung," and "bun dau mam tom" in a charming and humorous manner, making the show relatable to the audience.

Moreover, the musical prioritizes sustainability, with most costumes crafted from recycled fabrics. Natural fibers like cotton and silk are also used, ensuring high applicability and enhancing sustainable value, demonstrating social responsibility in preserving the green planet.
