Alfredo Salkeld have spent three weeks at a homestay at Na Rang, a small mountainous village in northern Vietnam to feature real images of local people’s life.

This is home to Tay ethnic minority people.

The homestay was posted by 21-year-old Na Rang local Hoang Duc Trung in an effort to save the village's disappearing culture.

Trung left Na Rang to learn English, then returned to start the homestay in his grandparents' house, hoping to attract tourists and preserve the practices of the people that live there.

Alfredo stayed at Trung’s stilt house for three weeks. Traditional Tay homes have one room which serves as a bedroom, dining room, and living room.

Trung’s grandfather does not speak English but he can play traditional music on a flute he carved from bamboo.

Life moves slower here, but there's never a shortage of things to do," said Alfredo.

Trung’s grandmother grows tea, mint, cassava, mulberries, eggplant, rice and several vegetables.

Waterfall is clear. At night the only sound you hear is rain, birds and insects.

Alfredo said he finds a lot of peace in Na Rang and feels like he has a family there that he can go back to.
