Appearing on the TV show Vo chong son (Newlyweds), Truong Thi Bich Tuyet, 44, from Quang Binh, and Pham Ba Hong, 39, from Thanh Hoa, now living in Tay Ninh, shared their emotional love story.

The couple met in 2024 during a music competition. At the time, Tuyet was working in Long An, while Hong made a living selling cotton swabs on the streets in HCMC.

Tuyet was impressed by Hong’s sweet voice and went on stage to give him flowers. When she realized he was visually impaired, she was deeply moved.

After that encounter, they began messaging regularly and gradually fell in love.

Tuyet said that after a failed marriage and having an older child, she was hesitant about starting a new relationship. Hong, who had also been married before and is five years younger, made her even more uncertain when he confessed his feelings.

In one video call, Tuyet saw Hong struggling to rush through the rain, carrying his speaker and bag of cotton swabs. Because of his visual impairment, he bumped into people along the way. Some sympathized, others insulted him harshly.

“I felt heartbroken for him. From that moment, I cared about him even more,” she recalled.

“I felt her affection and knew that this woman was exactly the person I needed. So, I asked for a quick wedding,” Hong added.

Their relationship, built on both love and compassion, led to a wedding shortly after.

However, just a day after the ceremony, Tuyet faced an unexpected shock involving her husband’s ex.

That day, her mother-in-law received a call from a stranger. When Tuyet took the phone, she was stunned by what she heard: “I’m Hong’s wife. Why do I hear he just got married?”

Hong later explained that he had previously been in a relationship while working in HCMC, but they had broken up due to incompatibility. He did not expect his ex to call after his wedding.

Still, the incident left Tuyet unsettled. “I think my husband was partly at fault. If he had truly ended things clearly, this wouldn’t have happened. If I had known earlier, there might not have been a wedding,” she said.

Hong apologized sincerely for causing her distress so soon after their marriage.

The couple now lives a simple life. Seeing her husband struggle with street vending, Tuyet used her savings to open a small home-based massage and acupressure service for him. She works in beauty services and tailoring to support the family.
