Three days ago, Quang Binh border guard force received information about a group of Chinese fishing boats that were fishing in Vietnam’s waters, to the north of Quang Binh’s Con Co, about 10 nautical miles from the western boundary of the common fishing area. The location where the Chinese vessels operated is deep in the waters of Vietnam.

Quang Binh border guard headquarters sent two speedboats with 16 officers and soldiers to chase the Chinese boats out of Vietnam’s waters.

Upon detection of the functional forces of Vietnam, the six Chinese fishing vessels sped up to flee but they were seized.

All Chinese fishermen on the six fishing vessels were not carrying personal papers and could not show the vessel registration papers.

The Vietnamese forces took notes on the Chinese fishermen’s violation in Vietnam’s waters, and gave them a warning about the violation.

By noon of July 18, the Quang Binh Border Guard released the vessels and fishermen out of Vietnam's waters.
