The Vietnam Mathematical Society recently announced its decision to confer the 2025 prize on two educators and four students. The award is one of the society’s most prestigious honors, recognizing outstanding mathematics teachers and exceptional students nationwide.
The two honored teachers are Tran Quang Hung, a teacher at the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences under the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Tran Dinh Huu, a teacher at Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted in Ha Tinh Province.
Tran Quang Hung is the author of the only geometry problem, Problem 2, featured in the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad examination.
Tran Dinh Huu has been recognized for his significant contributions to training and mentoring outstanding mathematics students in Ha Tinh at both national and international levels.
The four students receiving the 2025 award are:
Nguyen Dinh Tung, a Grade 12 student at the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences under the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. In the 2024–2025 academic year, when he was in Grade 11, Tung won a silver medal at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad.
Truong Thanh Xuan, a Grade 12 student at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted in Bac Ninh Province. In the 2024–2025 academic year, as a Grade 11 student, Xuan earned a bronze medal at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad.
Bui Nhat Minh, a Grade 10 student at the High School for the Gifted under Hanoi National University of Education. Minh won first prize in the 2025–2026 National Excellent Student Competition in Mathematics.
Tran Anh Quan, a Grade 12 student at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted in Dien Bien Province. Quan also secured first prize in the 2025–2026 National Excellent Student Competition in Mathematics.
