Police in Ho Chi Minh City has arrested a security officer for allegedly killing a six-year-old boy.
A security officer stabbed a six-year-old boy to death on Trinh Dinh Trong Street in Ho Chi Minh City on November 26
Hoang Nhat Giang, 34, who was a security officer at Ward 5 in District 11, was arrested on Sunday after stabbing an unnamed boy on Trinh Dinh Trong Street in Tan Phu District.
According to police reports, the boy was walking to a shop which was opposite his home on Trinh Dinh Trong Street at 1 pm on November 26 when Giang saw him from his booth. Giang suddenly rushed to the boy with a knife and stabbed him in his neck. The boy died at the scene.
Giang then ran to his booth and closed the door. The boy's uncle saw the incident and ran to the booth and was also attacked until local people managed to control the killer.
Giang was then arrested by police and was said to have suffered from schizophrenic attacks for many years.
