Cold air causes small rains and drizzles in most districts in Lao Cai Province. The temperature is going down and the weather is very cold.

Particularly, the temperature is only 5-7°C in some mountain districts like Bac Ha, Sa Pa and Bat Xat. It is only 1 to minus 1 degree Celsius in some areas of Sapa town.

This morning, an interesting natural phenomenon, white snowflakes, began falling in Sa Pa. According to local residents, snow stretched from the Hoang Lien peak to O Quy Ho Pass and began to spill down to Sapa town at 5am.

This is the first snowfall in Sa Pa in 2014.

According to forecasts, snowfall will last a couple of days.

In the afternoon of February 18, a new cold spell began affecting the northeastern provinces. This cold spell is forecasted to last 3-4 days.
