Bodies of tourists swept away by waves found
On August 10, a group of 300 employees at a company in Binh Duong Province went to visit La Gi Town in the southern coastal province of Binh Thuan. At 5 pm, over 10 people went out for a swim despite strong winds and waves.
They were swept away quickly. The lifeguards of the tourism site and the local authorities ran to rescue them as quickly as possible and were able to bring 7 people to the shore.
However, four people died at the location including a lifeguard. At least four tourists were transferred to the hospital and two people were reported missing.
As of 6 pm on August 12, the bodies of two missing tourists Ho Duy Phuong and Mai Huu Thoai had been found on Tam Tan and Cua Can beaches. The body of Ho Duy Phuong was found 11km away from the site of the incident.
Due to bad weather, the sea in Binh Thuan has had strong waves recently and people with weak swimming skills could easily be swept away. Dtinews
