Japan’s Shiga University of Medical Science and Danang Hospital to co-operate in stem transplants

The hospital and Japanese university signed a memorandum of understanding in stem transplant co-operation.

Shiga University of Medical Science will send doctors from Danang Hospital to Japan for training on stem transplants. The Japanese university will also provide stem transplant equipment for the hospital.

The deal is intended to help Danang Hospital expand the stem transplants to many other diseases, not just spinal marrow transplants as at present.

Danang Hospital has conducted spinal marrow transplants since 2016 with the technology transferred from Japan’s Kitano Hospital. The first patient treated suffered from neck injuries.

Shiga University of Medical Science is well known for its stem transplant technology in Japan. Dtinews
