The stormy season on the South China Sea (known in Vietnam as East Sea) is predicted to come late with fewer typhoons and tropical depressions.

The central region is foreseen to be the most affected, especially in the second half of 2019.

From April to August, the average temperature has been higher than during the same period last year, rising from 0.5 to 1 degree Celsius.

In another development, after storm No 2 which hit Hai Phong City and Quang Ning Province on Thursday, Viet Nam Electricity on Friday restored the electricity supply for six affected localities of Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, Hai Duong, Thanh Hoa and Hung Yen.

However, some 106,000 people are still suffering from power outages.
