On September 9, Phu Dien Ward Police in Hanoi said they were completing the necessary documentation and procedures to hand over Lim Hyun Woo, born in 1999 and a South Korean national, to the competent authorities in accordance with regulations.

Earlier, on September 7, while conducting patrols and inspections at the Goldmark urban area, officers from Phu Dien Ward Police noticed a foreign man behaving suspiciously and conducted an administrative check.

The man was identified as Lim Hyun Woo. He had entered Vietnam as a tourist and was permitted to remain in the country until September 9.

Police subsequently discovered that Lim was wanted by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) under Notice No. A-11455/7-2026 in connection with alleged fraud and misappropriation of property. Officers then took him to the Phu Dien Ward Police headquarters for further verification and processing.

Ministry of Public Security arrests highly dangerous drug fugitive in Phu Quoc

Also on September 9, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police said it had coordinated with specialized units under the Ministry of Public Security to arrest Nguyen Anh Tuan, born in 1983 and nicknamed “Tuan Troc.” A permanent resident of O Cho Dua Ward in Hanoi, Tuan was classified as a particularly dangerous fugitive wanted for the illegal trading of narcotics.

Earlier, on August 22, 2025, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Division, working with specialized units of An Giang Provincial Police, inspected a karaoke business in Quarter 1, Duong Dong, Phu Quoc Special Zone.

At the premises, authorities discovered people in four karaoke rooms allegedly organizing the illegal use of narcotics.

Given the complexity of the case, An Giang Provincial Police coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security to initiate criminal proceedings, expand the investigation and arrest multiple suspects over several alleged offenses, including illegal trading of narcotics, organizing the illegal use of narcotics, illegal possession of narcotics and appropriation of narcotics.

As the investigation expanded, police determined that Nguyen Anh Tuan was allegedly involved in the illegal trading of narcotics.

On March 16, the Investigation Police Agency issued a decision to prosecute Tuan and an arrest warrant for his temporary detention. However, he fled the area before he could be arrested. Police subsequently launched a search but were unable to locate him.

On September 1, An Giang Provincial Police issued a particularly dangerous wanted notice for Nguyen Anh Tuan.

After reviewing information and tracing his movements, An Giang Provincial Police and the Ministry of Public Security identified Tuan’s whereabouts and arrested him. Police are continuing to investigate his alleged conduct while expanding the investigation into the case and other individuals involved.
