The car bearing a blue-coloured licence plate was caught running at a high speed in the BRT lane.

The case was detected after a clip about the violation posted by a Facebook user on February 8 went viral. The car bearing a blue-coloured licence plate with the number 29A-016.46 was caught running at a high speed in the lane.

Hanoi police have been urged to identify the driver to impose a fine and the case’s result will be announced to the press.

Hanoi launched the BRT route from January 1, 2017. The 14-km route links Kim Ma Station in Dong Da District and Yen Nghia Station in Ha Dong District and takes around 30 minutes.

Hanoi has designed a separate BRT lane with 21 stops located on the median strips of the streets within the route. So the lane is banned to all means of transport.

Vehicles entering restricted bus lanes can be fined between VND800,000 and VND1.2 million (USD38-USD57).
