The launch of a new Phu Quoc - Hong Kong (China) route marks a significant step in strengthening connections between Vietnam’s island destination and one of Asia’s leading financial and tourism centers.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) has officially begun ticket sales for the service, reinforcing Phu Quoc’s growing role on the regional travel map.

Under the plan, the route will operate five flights per week, with the inaugural flight scheduled for May 22, 2026. Round-trip fares start from VND3,664,000 (approximately US$150), offering an accessible option for travelers amid rising demand for flexible, short-haul journeys.

With a consistent flight schedule, both passengers and travel partners can plan itineraries more effectively, optimize travel duration and enhance overall experiences. In parallel, SPA’s partnership with OpenSky as its General Sales Agent (GSA) in Hong Kong is expected to deepen market penetration, improve route efficiency and attract high-spending travelers.

Short breaks and weekend beach holidays are increasingly favored among Hong Kong residents. With a flight time of only a few hours, Phu Quoc is emerging as an ideal destination for three to four-day getaways. Its natural landscapes, a 30-day visa exemption policy for international visitors, and a comprehensive tourism and hospitality ecosystem developed by Sun Group in the southern part of the island continue to appeal strongly to international markets, particularly Northeast Asia.

Just five months after its first commercial flight, Sun PhuQuoc Airways has steadily expanded its footprint across the region. Hong Kong becomes the airline’s third international destination, following Taipei (Taiwan, China), launched on March 29, and Incheon (Seoul, South Korea), set to commence operations on April 17.
