Weightlifter Hoang Tan Tai brought home a bronze medal, the last medal for the Vietnam delegation, from the final competition day of the Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia today.

Tai lifted 145kg in snatch and 177kg in clean and jerk in the men’s 85kg category. With a total lift of 322kg, Tai finished third. Thailand’s Pornchai Lobsi was the winner with 337kg, while Malaysian Mohamad Fazrul Azrie was the runner-up with 323kg.
At this event, five players from Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Viet Nam and host nation Malaysia competed in the final to decide the winners.
Vietnamese weightlifters competed in five men’s categories, winning two golds, one silver and two bronzes.
Tai’s result also closed an eventful Games for the Viet Nam delegation with a total of 58 gold, 50 silver and 56 bronze medals to rank third in the medal tally.
