The pilot project on "Cultural Village" model is launched by Vinh Phuc authorities to concretize Resolution 15 of the Provincial Party Committee on building culture and people of Vinh Phuc to meet the requirements of sustainable development.

As a land with potential for community-based tourism development, Tam Dao district is the only locality in Vinh Phuc province that is selected to build five cultural villages. This is a new direction in preserving the culture of ethnic minorities associated with exploiting the district's tourism potential.

The cultural village model is implemented in 5 villages located in 5 communes of Tam Dao, namely Luc Lieu village in Dao Tru commune; Ban Long village in Minh Quang commune; Dong Bua village in Tam Quan commune; Dong Ca village in Bo Ly commune; Dong Pheo village in Yen Duong commune.

To implement this project, the authorities of Tam Dao district have established a steering committee, promulgated the specific plan to implement the Resolution of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, and a specific plan to implement resolutions of the Provincial People's Council on this issue.

For the San Diu ethnic people living in Luc Lieu Village of Dao Tru Commune, building a Model Cultural Village will not only help preserve and promote their unique culture, but also turn this place into a tourist site.

Dao Tru commune in Tam Dao district has over 80% of the population who are San Diu ethnic people. With many unique cultural features, the local government will restore characteristics of the San Diu ethnic group to serve tourists. From there, it opens up a new direction for Dao Tru to exploit the potential and advantages in developing eco-tourism and community tourism. Building a Model Cultural Village is an opportunity for the locality to promote economic development and improve the material and spiritual life of the people.

Dong Bua village in Tam Quan commune is one of 5 villages in Tam Dao district that is selected to develop a model cultural village. The village has 503 households with nearly 1,600 people, mainly San Diu ethnic people. The model cultural village of Dong Bua village is planned on the farmland of 35 households, covering an area of more than 13,700 square meters.

The local Party Committee and authorities focused on promoting propaganda and raising awareness for officials and party members about the goals, meaning and importance of the construction of the Model Cultural Village. As a result, all households Dong Bua village agreed and were ready to hand over land to build a cultural house.

After 5 months of implementation, with the determined efforts of the Party Committee, authorities of Tam Dao district and Tam Quan commune, the consensus of officials, party members and people of Dong Bua village, the Model Cultural Village of Dong Bua has been completed and is a place for community activities, cultural and sports exchanges for ethnic minorities inside and outside the region.

Cultural and sports institutional areas of the remaining Model Cultural Villages include Ban Long village in Minh Quang commune; Dong Ca village in Bo Ly commune; Dong Pheo village in Yen Duong commune. As for the implementation of special policies under Resolution No. 06, Ban Long village registered 13/16 special policies; Dong Pheo village registered 14/16 policies; and Dong Ca village 12/16 policies.

Implementing the criteria under Resolution No. 08, Ban Long village basically achieved 4/14 criteria; Dong Pheo village 3/14 criteria; Dong Ca village 2/14 criteria. In the villages that are implementing the construction of Model Cultural Villages, local people voluntarily participated in “labor days” to clean up village roads and alleys, clean the environment, and plant trees...

The program to build model culturals village in Tam Dao district has received the joint efforts and consensus of all people. With the goal of "People know, people discuss, people do, people check and people benefit", the authorities at all levels in Tam Dao district have actively mobilized the participation of the entire political system, consensus of the entire people in implementing 14 criteria of the Cultural Village Model under Resolution No. 08/2023 of the Provincial People's Council. The district has registered 65 models to support economic development and increase income for households. Many projects and construction works have been completed early than schedule.

Determined to speed up and effectively implement the Cultural Village model, creating a highlight in tourism development, in the coming time, Tam Dao district will continue to promote tourism development, strengthen propaganda work, focusing on finding solutions and mobilizing resources to implement the set of criteria and policy mechanisms.
