Riddle has extensive management experience in large corporations around the world. He has been with Tan Hiep Phat for more than 13 years as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The appointment was made after Tan Hiep Phat’s CEO and founder Tran Qui Thanh, 70, was charged with misappropriation of assets. 

Thanh’s two daughters, Tran Uyen Phuong, 42, and Tran Ngoc Bich, 39, face the same charge. They are deputy CEOs of Tan Hiep Phat. Of the three suspects, Thanh and Phuong have been detained.

The latest developments are part of a probe into claims accusing Thanh and his two daughters and other individuals of committing property embezzlement, abuse of trust and misappropriation of assets, and tax evasion.

In the statement, Tan Hiep Phat announced that with the management system developed over the years, the company would make every effort to minimize the adverse effects of this incident on the company's operations and partners.

It stated that the investigations of Thanh, Phuong and Bich were unrelated to the company’s activities.
