The northern border province of Lang Son is the home to 7 ethnic groups, which has long been famous for traditional houses called “trinh tuong” of the Tay and Nung people.
Dak Lak province in the Central Highlands has opened classes on Gong playing for students from ethnic minorities to help them learn the core values of Gong culture.
Together with sli and luon singing, “lay co” folk game has been indispensable at any gathering, especially during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Lang Son and many other provinces.
The eighth version of the Vietnam heritage photo contest, launched by Vietnam Heritage magazine received a total of 3,075 entries from 413 photographers nationwide, with 14 prizes being awarded to the contest’s best artworks.
The Thanh Minh (grave-visiting) festival, which falls on the third day of the third lunar month, is one of the most important festivals of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups.
