Thuong Ha No. 2 Secondary Boarding School

Ho Cao Khai, chairman of Bao Yen District People's Committee confirmed that teacher Nguyen Viet Anh, 36, from Thuong Ha No. 2 Secondary School had been detained for the investigation over his sexual abuse of an 8th-grade student.

The student said that the abuse started in 2017 and they had sexual intercourse for many times. The case has been brought to light after the girl was found to be 12 weeks pregnant.

According to the girl, Anh gave her a mobile phone and a simcard in order to keep in contact. The phone was confiscated by the police.

The teacher admitted what he had done to the student.

The girl was born into a poor family. Her father died while her mother is mute. Her house is far from school, so she often stayed overnight at the boarding school.

Tran Nhat Hai, headmaster of the school, said that he himself and other teachers were shocked at the case.

Hai added that Anh has been teaching IT at the school for seven years. He has been ever granted an excellent IT teacher title given by the district's Department of Education and Training. Dtinews
