Therefore, telecom carriers will apply measures to respond to all possible cases.

According to the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), the total mobile data traffic on the 2023 Tet holiday is expected to increase by 40 percent compared with 2022.

Mobile phone users’ demand for using data is predicted to increase by 10 percent compared with ordinary days. In the 2023 New Year, voice traffic increased by 12 percent compared with ordinary days and no congestion occurred.

On Tet days, mobile subscribers move from populous areas and industrial zones (IZs) in large cities to neighboring localities.

A high number of subscribers will flock to Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, An Giang and Tra Vinh, which will lead to changes in the telecom service usage flow in cities/provinces.

To ensure information security and smooth network operation through Tet holiday, VNPT has designed measures to ensure uninterrupted operation of all equipment systems of its network.

The telecom carrier has also sped up the upgrading of systems to put them into operation before Tet. Other projects have been installed to rescue traffic in case problems occur.

Like VNPT, MobiFone is also preparing technical measures to serve clients on Tet days.

According to MobiFone, since 2022, it has been optimizing and automating the network operation, using machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

MobiFone network can well satisfy the requirements to serve clients on Tet. 3G/4G network capability can well satisfy data service and prevent congestion in key areas with high data traffic.

The carrier has completed the preparation in the labor force. There are always workers on duty who will receive and timely handle troubles 24/7.
