Viettel is the 3G data leader in terms of all technical standards, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications’ telecom department.
For instance, with an average download speed of 15.27 Mbps, it is twice as fast as its nearest competitor.
The report shows that in all eight technical parameters for 3G, Viettel has exceeded standards set by the ministry and beaten the two other networks that were tested at the same time.
Viettel achieved successful internet access of 100 per cent against a requirement of over 90 per cent, readiness of network of 99.98 per cent against a requirement of 95 per cent and delay time for internet access of 1.33 seconds against a requirement of under 10 seconds.
Furthermore, latency when accessing the Viettel mobile internet was the lowest among the three network providers at an average of 28 ms, which is good enough to play online games and live stream on mobile devices.
The tests were done separately in the northern provinces of Lang Son and Thai Nguyen, central provinces of Quang Tri and Quang Binh and the southern provinces of Ben Tre and Tien Giang in June this year.
The result was announced recently at http://vnta.gov.vn
Earlier this month SpeedTest, the global leader in fixed broadband and mobile network testing applications, data and analysis, had also rated Viettel as the fastest mobile internet service provider in Viet Nam.
The results were the outcome of 1.61 million tests done by Vietnamese subscribers using SpeedTest in the first six month of this year.
The test was the first of its kind in Viet Nam, with Ookla, the company behind SpeedTest, saying it was undertaken independently and without intimation to any of the service providers.
The company also said Viettel has been the internet speed leader for the last three years.
In the latest test Viettel reached an average download speed of 28.22 Mbs and upload speed of 13.56 Mbps for a Speed Score of 26.21.
The average score is 14.65 points in Thailand, 14.98 in the Philippines, 22.91 in Cambodia, 14.65 in India, and 21.79 in Russia.
