Two naval ships left the coastal city of Vung Tau, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on January 21, carrying missions to visit and present gifts to the officials and soldiers on duty at the marine defence platform DK1.

The missions included over 100 delegates from the High Command of the Navy Region 2, Centre for National Defense and Security Education under the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, and press agencies.

During their trip lasting from 12-15 days, they will also visit Rada Station 590 and several other agencies and units in Con Dao island district.

The supplies included gifts from the President, the Ministry of Defence, the High Command of Vietnam People's Navy, and the High Command of the Navy Region 2 as well as many other localities and agencies around the country, to help the officers and soldiers enjoy the upcoming Tet (traditional Lunar New Year).

The trip aimed to encourage soldiers and people stationed at sea and on islands to fulfil their tasks, contributing to protecting the country's sea and island sovereignty.
