At the championship, which opened in HCM City on October 12, Tuan of HCM City lifted 122kg to take the gold medal in snatch, while Toan of Da Nang bagged the silver medal with 118kg.

In clean and jerk, Tuan won the gold medal with his lift of 150kg, while Toàn got the silver medal with 149kg.

In total lift, Tuan went for gold with 272kg, while Toàn was the runner-up with 267kg.

Hanoian Lai Gia Thanh won two bronze medals in this division, with 147kg in clean and jerk and 263kg in total lift.

In the women’s 48kg category, Vuong Thi Huyen of Hanoi won three gold medals in snatch, clean and jerk and total lift, with 79kg, 99kg and 178kg, respectively.

In the women’s 53kg division, Nguyen Thi Thuy won two gold medals in clean and jerk with 110kg and total lift with 190kg. The gold medal in snatch went to Nguyen Hong Nhung of Hai Duong with 81kg.

The five-day event, which attracted the participation of 137 weightlifters from 23 teams across the country, will end on October 16.
