Thailand's government spokesperson Chai Watcharong announced that Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has instructed all government agencies and state enterprises nationwide to fly flags at half-mast on August 1-2, 2024, in memory of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin led the tribute by visiting the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand on July 25, representing the Thai Royal Government and people. He paid his respects, laid a wreath, and signed the condolence book in honor of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, who passed away on July 19 at the age of 80.
In his condolence message, Prime Minister Srettha expressed his deep sympathy to the government and people of Vietnam, as well as to the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during this sorrowful time.
