The "Vietnamese Ao Dai Tourism Festival 2024" is set to be a grand celebration of Vietnam’s traditional attire, bringing together the country's most esteemed designers to showcase their unique Ao Dai creations at the historic Thang Long Imperial Citadel. This cultural event, highlighting the elegance and heritage of the Ao Dai, promises to be a stunning display of Vietnam's rich cultural identity.
Scheduled for October 4th at the Doan Mon Square stage within the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, the festival will commence with the "Ao Dai Quintessence" art program.
The opening ceremony is divided into three captivating segments: "Golden History," "Cultural Bridges," and "Journey of Spread," reenacting the significant 70-year history since the Liberation of the Capital.
On October 5th, the festival will feature the Ao Dai Night, where collections from many of Vietnam’s renowned designers, including Ngoc Han, Do Trinh Hoai Nam, Duc Hung, Cao Minh Tien, and Thuy Nguyen, will be showcased.
A particular highlight of the event will be the "Luong Duyen" collection by designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam, chosen to open the show.
During a recent press conference, designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam shared insights into his "Luong Duyen" collection, which includes 75 designs deeply inspired by Eastern fashion.
These exquisite garments are distinguished by meticulously hand-painted patterns and motifs, printed on high-quality silk, and embellished with gold thread embroidery, adding a luxurious touch.
Additionally, Do Trinh Hoai Nam introduced a special Ao Dai collection designed specifically for children. To leave a lasting impression at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the designer has also crafted 25 men’s Ao Dai featuring dragon patterns and traditional motifs, alongside 25 women’s Ao Dai adorned with hand-painted lotus designs.
Beyond his role as a featured designer, Do Trinh Hoai Nam is also the event's coordinator, bringing together more than 70 designers from across Vietnam to celebrate the Ao Dai.
The Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival 2024 will also include a workshop titled "Proud of Vietnamese Ao Dai," where participants can design mini Ao Dai using leftover fabric from tailoring processes. This event, taking place from October 4-6, aims to promote environmental protection while offering visitors culturally rich souvenirs.
Do Trinh Hoai Nam, along with designers from the North, Central, and Southern regions, will personally guide attendees, ensuring a memorable and enriching experience.
