hanoi tourism ao dai festival 2024 to charm spectators in early october picture 1

The annual event aims to promote the elegant beauty of the Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) whilst showcasing Hanoi's tourism industry, with the occasion consisting of a wide range of activities.

An art performance will be held at 8 p.m. on October 4 at the Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).

The event also conveys a message of love for Ao Dai, as well as the responsibility of people seeking to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the nation.

The highlight of the festival will be a parade held on October 5 with locals wearing Ao Dai walking through the Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center; Hoang Dieu, Hoang Van Thu, and Doc Lap streets; and the Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

A range of unique cultural and artistic activities will be held during the event, including Ao Dai fashion shows, a photo exhibition and exhibition space set up for Ao Dai collections, an Ao Dai design contest, and a food fair.

Hanoi Women's Union on its website will also launch an online contest, with contestants donning the Ao Dai and posing for photographs with famous tourist spots across the capital as beautiful backgrounds.

The occasion is anticipated to attract a large number of residents, along with both domestic and international tourists.
