They seized more than 15 kilograms of heroin, valued at US$75,000. Police also arrested three people connected to transporting the drugs across the border from Laos into Vietnam.

We cannot and we will not allow drug dealers to peddle death in our communities, said police officials.

The ring allegedly brought drugs in from Laos via cars and motorbikes with hidden compartments.

Cheo Thi Phoi, 37, and Cheo Van Man, 41, both Lao nationals along with Phan Thi Pham, 39, from the Muong Lat District of the province of Thanh Hoa are being charged as major drug traffickers.
