“The Bald Soprano”, the first play written by Romanian-French playwright Eugène Ionesco, was premiered at the Théâtre des Noctambules in Paris on May 11, 1950. It was well received by the audience, opening the way for the Theater of the Absurd, or tragicomedy, of the modern West.

Since 1957 “The Bald Soprano” has been in permanent showing at the Théâtre de la Huchette, which received a Molière d'honneur for its performances. It holds the world record for the play that has been staged continuously in the same theater for the longest time.

By bringing a famous play from a famous genre of theater arts – tragicomedy – on stage, director Tran Luc and LucTeam seek to introduce to Hanoi audience a brand new and exciting performance.

Tickets are from VND150,000 for students to VND300,000 for regular seats and VND500,000 for VIP seats, and can be purchased at L’Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street, Hanoi.
